What is Kyle’s Newsletter?

I began journaling years ago for clarity, peace of mind, and self-development. I arrived on Substack during graduate school to write about psychology and health topics in a more engaging way (I hope!) than traditional scientific and academic writing. I’m still here because I believe in learning and the power of information, and Substack achieves these aims in a simple, straightforward way.

The goal of Kyle’s Newsletter is to read, write, and reflect—in no specific order. To risk sounding cliché, I find profound meaning in the process of reading, connecting ideas, and sharing those ideas with others. Society informs individuals and we, in return, inform society. I want to use my fortunate position in life to consciously take part in the creation of a better tomorrow. There is little rhyme or reason to what any given newsletter will entail, but some common themes include:

  • Community & the Structures of Society

  • Politics, economics, and sociology

  • Philosophy & literature

  • Short fiction and poetry

  • Food & recipe blogging

  • A serialized science fiction novel (in the works)

Why You Should Subscribe

As much as I enjoy a private existence, I pour myself into these writings. Many of them take on an autobiographical point of view, as that is how I make sense of the world. Whether you know me or not, you may find part of yourself in the words I write. And as each newsletter differs from the last, you never know what will end up in your inbox. I think there’s great pleasure and enjoyment in that.

At the end of the day, I just want to follow my curiosity and bring people together.
